4 job offers
Hi there! It’s a busy Monday, so I will be quick. Today’s issue contains four job offers. Special thanks to Luca Tancredi, who sent me the offer from Openlab at CERN.
As always, feel free to forward this e-mail!
Science Communications Officer at The Institute of Cancer Research (three-month cover).
Who: The Institute of Cancer Research
What: You will help us create content for our website, print publications, intranet and email newsletters. You will be writing news, features and blogs about the ICR’s cutting-edge cancer research, and helping produce interactive content such as videos and infographics. The role will also involve editing of content and overseeing the production process for publications and digital projects.
You will need to be able to get across complex messages about the ICR’s science and its benefit for patients in an engaging, easily understandable manner. A degree in a scientific subject will be essential, and you will be an excellent writer with creative flair and a good visual sense. Strong digital and design skills would be a strong advantage.
You are likely to have experience of working in science communication as a writer online or in print, and of tailoring complex messages for non-scientific audiences. You will need to be good at working in partnership with other teams too, because the role involves producing content on behalf of internal and external partners. It’s vital that you have a passion for cancer research, and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver work within a busy team.
