Scientific Editor for Eurosurveillance at European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
Who: European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
What: The Jobholder will report to the Editor-in-chief of Eurosurveillance.
He/She will be responsible in particular for the following areas of work:
• All day-to-day editorial tasks in the Editorial Office of Eurosurveillance;
• Copy- and content-editing of submitted manuscripts and working closely with authors
and peer-reviewers to facilitate (rapid) publication of high-quality articles;
• Evaluating and assuring quality of submitted manuscripts;
• Processing of suitable manuscripts;
• Supporting the Editor-in-Chief in developing the content of the journal;
• Ensuring wide dissemination and promoting the journal among key audiences;
• Collaborating with the national editorial advisers and associate editors;
• Representing the journal at relevant meetings and conferences;
• Developing close working relations with relevant national and international bodies

• Any other tasks related to his/her area of work as requested.

Scientific Editor for Eurosurveillance at European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
Who: European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
What: The jobholder will report to the Head of Section Communication and Spokesperson and contribute to the work of the Communication Section.
He/ she will be responsible for the operational management of ECDC website content and in particular the following tasks:
• Ensuring routine web content publication and maintenance;
• Optimising and improving the web content publication and maintenance;
• Contributing to strategic development of ECDC web communications;
• Contributing to planning, building, testing and maintaining of ECDC websites and web functionalities;
• Monitoring, analysing and improving site performance and visibility;
• Liaising with content providers and providing training and support;
• Addressing and managing user requests and complaints;
• Other activities assigned to the Communication team and any other tasks related to
his/her area of work as requested.
