A fellowship for science journos and a Digital Communications job
Good morning everyone! So, today this issue contains one fellowship for early science journalists. It comes from The Open Notebook, one of the best sci-comm & science journalism resources I have found over the years. They tell the stories behind the stories we most enjoy, and offer great advice on everything: how to write better, prepare interviews, make successful pitches… Seriously, go check them out.

Early-Career Science Journalism Fellowship by The Open Notebook/Burroughs Wellcome Fund
Who: The Open Notebook
What: The next TON/BWF fellowship period will begin on January 4, 2021 and end on August 31, 2021. The subsequent fellowship period will begin on July 1, 2021 and end on February 28, 2022. Applicants may express interest for one or both fellowship periods.
During the eight-month fellowship period, fellows will report and write six articles for publication at The Open Notebook—a mix of “story behind the story” interviews and reported features—with the guidance of a mentor who will help shape story ideas, provide reporting and writing guidance, edit final copy, and offer career-development mentoring. Fellows (and mentors) will also be part of a professional discussion group composed of former fellowship participants and TON editors.

What: Taylor & Francis are looking for new talent to join their 'F1000 Research' team as a Digital Communications Executive. You will be someone who can use their keen eye for a good story to develop a sustained presence of strong research-related content that will engage their user community and the general research community.
